Speaker and Subwoofer Upgrade Deliver Great Sound This amp produces 85 watts from channels three and four to drive the door speakers while channels one and two are bridged to provide up to 250 watts to the system subwoofer. The amp is mounted on the new back wall trim piece. The output of the Alpine radio feeds an ARC Audio X2-450.4 four-channel amplifier. The system doesn’t play CDs or DVDs but has a USB port to connect a memory stick for MP3 or WMA digital audio files. These technologies allow the client to use his phone’s voice recognition features to make phone calls, send text messages or select an entertainment option.

The Alpine radio includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. A custom ABS plastic trim ring around the radio face gives the installation a clean and tidy appearance. This design let us complete the installation without having to modify any of the support structure in the dash.

The Alpine radio has a single-DIN chassis behind the double-DIN 7-inch touchscreen display. Crossovers for front door speakers were installed in front doors and front tweeters in factory location front pillars.The new radio offers the client the latest in-dash technology.įor the audio system, we started by mounting an Alpine iLX-207 multimedia receiver in the dash to replace the receiver that came with the truck. Amplifier and crossovers for back door speakers and tweeters were installed in place of factory Subwoofer behind rear seat on custom rack. Also went with PAC AmpPro wiring kit so there was no need to run new wires. To make things easy as far as hook up goes and to keep all factory futures I went with PAC AmpPro AP4-FD21 which was needed since I wanted to keep my Sync 3 stock Navigation Radio. In order to keep all car futures and beeps and also Sync 3 working you need to keep Factory Amp which controls all of it. Some offer navigation and some don’t but many of them have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto built in. With that being said and if you go this route, stick with the well known and established brands such as Alpine, Sony, Pioneer, or Kenwood. When I was ordering my 2016 F150 the dealership checked the SONY RADIO box instead of the NAVIGATION box, so I ended up with a crappy sound system and no nav.nightmare.Īt the time, there were no aftermarket Navs that had come out yet, but I figure my now there would be one.
